Erebus

...the spirits
have left me.

The folowing drawings are a reflection of humankind’s struggle to maintain the virtues of existence intact amidst the faces of quarrelling worldly forces which disrupt the order of social harmony. In these drawings, the figure is represented off balance and displaced in a struggle to contain the spirits from exuding into temporary blackness of “Erebus”— the transitional dark tunnel-like passage to Hades, the underworld.  References to Homeric myths function as metaphors underscoring the theatrics of personal narratives. The resulting sense of disorientation serves as a cogent reminder of the odds stacked against us, our fallible position, and our vulnerability to bad seed agents.
